The Story
The Nehemiah Lovell House at 691 Main Street in Osterville village, Barnstable, is a well-preserved Federal-style three-quarter Cape cottage built c. 1789. Its first known owner was Nehemiah Lovell (1764-1820); it was later owned by Capt. David Fuller, who was lost at sea in 1854, and the Fuller family resided there for about a century. It is significant for its long-term associations with several locally prominent families and as a well-preserved example of the Federal style in the Osterville Village Center.
