The Joseph Jefferson Windmill is a wooden smock windmill that was originally built as an art studio for the 19th-century actor Joseph Jefferson at his summer home on Buttermilk Bay and was relocated to the Aptucxet Trading Post Museum grounds in 1976. In recent years it has been used as a gallery and studio space for local artists.

The Aptucxet Trading Post Museum in Bourne preserves the site where Plymouth Colony established a trading post in 1627, the colonists' first permanent foothold on Cape Cod, used to trade with the Wampanoag and with Dutch settlers from New Netherland. The Algonquian name is often translated as 'little trap in the river,' reflecting the site's location where the Manomet and Scusset rivers met. The open-air museum, established in 1930 and run by the Bourne Historical Society, centers on a replica of the 17th-century trading post and also displays a relocated railroad station, a saltworks replica, and a wooden smock windmill. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.
