History

The Unitarian Cemeteries in Barnstable date to about 1748 and are a contributing property in a National Register historic district. Attached to Barnstable's Unitarian (originally First Parish Congregational) church, the grounds hold the graves of the village's founding families across the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. They form part of the historic religious landscape of one of Cape Cod's oldest towns.
