History

This stone in Snow Cemetery, Truro, marks the grave of Princess Nina Georgievna of Russia (1901-1974), a great-granddaughter of Tsar Nicholas I. She left Russia in 1914, married Prince Paul Chavchavadze in London in 1922, and settled with her family in Wellfleet on Cape Cod in 1939, where she worked as an artist. She died in 1974 and is buried in Truro.
