The Story
The Ebenezer Crocker Jr. House in Cotuit is a fine late Georgian dwelling built in 1783, a two-and-a-half story gable-roofed structure with two interior chimneys, a five-bay facade, and a projecting enclosed second-story porch. It is significant for its long association with several notable families who lived there, the Crockers, Hoopers, and Lowells, and for reflecting Cotuit's agricultural and summer-resort history. Enhanced by its rural setting and numerous well-preserved outbuildings, it is considered one of the two best-preserved farmsteads in Barnstable.
