Built on a Berkshire farm around a radical idea — that bright students shouldn't have to wait for college — Simon's Rock became America's pioneering early college.
Every campus tells one story to visitors and another to itself. This walk covers both. Four stops over 0.4 miles, about 40 minutes of walking. The story for each stop plays as you arrive, so nothing has to be looked up and nobody has to be followed.
Great Barrington has four MassRoam tours and no two cover the same ground. It works as well at eight in the morning as it does at dusk. Stop for coffee, pick it back up.
