History
Maple Grove Cemetery on Auburn Street in Chicopee was established in 1836, as the community was developing into an industrial mill town on the Connecticut River. It is a contributing property in a National Register historic district and holds the graves of Chicopee's 19th-century families. Its layout and monuments reflect the rural-cemetery sensibilities that spread through New England in the mid-1800s.
