This marble marker of about 1882 commemorates Capt. Thomas W. Shaw in Truro's Snow Cemetery. The 'Capt.' title reflects Truro's deep maritime tradition, when many of its men commanded fishing and merchant vessels out of Cape Cod ports; the stone is a contributing feature of a National Register historic district.
