History

The Civil War Memorial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Falmouth, was erected in 1890 to honor townsmen who served the Union in the War of the Rebellion. Cemetery soldiers' monuments of this kind, dedicated by Grand Army of the Republic posts a generation after the war, are common on Cape Cod; this one is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
