Oak Grove Cemetery was established in 1849 in the fashionable rural-cemetery style after Falmouth townspeople met to select a new burial site. It holds many of the town's leading citizens, including 19th-century sea captains and relocated Revolutionary War and War of 1812 veterans, and is the burial place of Katharine Lee Bates, author of "America the Beautiful." It was listed on the National Register in 2014.

Oak Grove Cemetery in Falmouth is a private cemetery established in 1849 with an initial purchase of about five acres, laid out in the winding, landscaped manner of the rural cemetery movement then popular in New England. It was enlarged several times over the following century, and its Colonial Revival chapel was built in 1935 through a bequest. The cemetery is the burial place of many of Falmouth's leading citizens, ship captains, and war veterans, and its most famous grave is that of Katharine Lee Bates, the Falmouth-born author of "America the Beautiful." It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
