About this walk

The oldest of the Seven Sisters, Mount Holyoke was built in 1837 on Mary Lyon's radical idea that women deserved an education equal to men's — on a South Hadley campus that Frederick Law Olmsted planted as a botanic garden.

Every campus tells one story to visitors and another to itself. This walk covers both. Four stops over 1.1 miles, about 53 minutes of walking. Each one starts talking the moment you reach it, so you can keep your eyes on the street instead of a screen.

There is no start time to make — walk it in one go, or leave the rest for another afternoon.
