About this walk

Funded by a bequest Benjamin Franklin wrote in 1789 to compound for two centuries, this Boston institute has trained tradespeople and technologists since 1908.

Every campus tells one story to visitors and another to itself. This walk covers both. Five stops over 0.9 miles, about 57 minutes of walking. Every stop narrates itself when you get there, at whatever pace you feel like walking.

It is one of 50 tours in Boston, each taking a different line through the city. Nothing is booked and nothing expires, so you can start it on a whim and finish it whenever you like.
