Parsons, Col. Israel House

A contributing property in the Granville Center Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. One of the original 18th-century settlement areas in the town of Granville, this hilltop village, known locally as 'The Hill,' stretches along about half a mile of Main Road at the town's geographic center. It is significant for roughly 250 years as Granville's seat of government and the site of its first meetinghouse, and for its architecture, in which the Federal style predominates and includes some of the town's most ambitious buildings. The period of significance runs from 1784 to 1940, with contributing resources such as the 1802 First Church of Christ Congregational meetinghouse and an early general store.
