History

Spring Hill Cemetery, along Route 6A in Sandwich, was established in 1812 and served the Spring Hill neighborhood of one of Cape Cod's oldest towns. Its early 19th-century markers reflect the transition from colonial death's-head imagery to the urns, willows, and inscribed epitaphs of the federal era. The cemetery is a contributing property in a National Register historic district.
