From 1972 to 2005 this Brewster site on Cape Cod housed the New England Fire and History Museum, a roadside attraction displaying a large collection of antique fire engines, apparatus, and firefighting artifacts. The museum closed at the end of 2005, and the property was later transferred to Latham Centers for redevelopment as a community center.

This Brewster site on Main Street was long home to the New England Fire and History Museum, opened in 1973 by Gene Morris, a retired executive and D-Day veteran who had earlier founded a fire museum in New Jersey and relocated the collection to Cape Cod. Spread across several buildings on a two-acre site, the museum displayed antique fire apparatus including hand-pumped 'tubs' dating to the 18th century and steam pumpers. The museum has since closed.
