History

The Howes Family Cemetery on Bramble Lane in Dennis is a small private burial ground associated with the Howes family, among the founding families of the Yarmouth and Dennis area, which was first settled by English colonists in the late 1630s. Reportedly dating to the mid-17th century, it is the kind of family lot common on early Cape Cod, holding successive generations of a single household. The cemetery is part of a local historic district.
