History
Friends Cemetery on Friends Way in Falmouth is one of the oldest burial grounds in the town, in use from about 1720 in connection with the Quaker (Society of Friends) community that settled West Falmouth. In keeping with Quaker custom, its early graves were marked plainly or left unmarked, reflecting the sect's rejection of ornament. It is a contributing property in a National Register historic district.
