History
The Crocker Tavern Milestone stands on Main Street (the Old King's Highway) in Barnstable near the eighteenth-century Crocker Tavern, a well-known stagecoach stop on the road down Cape. Recorded to about 1750, it is one of the colonial-era mile markers that guided travelers along the Cape's principal road and today is a contributing object in a National Register historic district.
