MassachusettsThe Cobb Memorial Library at 13 Truro Center Road, built in 1912, is a fine example of the Craftsman style in a one-story bungalow form, set prominently on a rise above the road. Its character-defining features include deep overhanging eaves with exposed rafter ends, over-scaled decorative wooden braces, grouped windows, and a Craftsman porch with tapered posts and built-in benches; it was originally clad in stucco with a red clay tile roof, replaced with wood and fiberglass shingles in 1940. The library was given to the town by Elisha Wiley Cobb (1856-1928), a Truro native who became a Boston leather merchant, in memory of his parents Elisha W. and Mehitable Cobb. After his death his daughter Nellie Cobb Magee continued as family benefactor, donating the building's cupola and copper-clad clock tower in 1930.

The Cobb Memorial Library was built in 1912, funded by a bequest from Elisha Wiley Cobb in memory of his parents, and served as Truro's first town-owned public library. Designed by Boston architect J. Williams Beal, it is an uncommon local example of Craftsman-style architecture. It remained the town's main library until 1999, after which it was taken over by the Truro Historical Society. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
